May Day: Special Recognition to Hard Workers

May Day: Special Recognition to Hard Workers

Recently, because of the pandemic outbreak, the world seems to have been on a standstill. There are still a lot of people braving the day, to help alleviate the pain for those who are affected, as well as finding the cure so that this dark time comes to an end.

As May Day is coming up, the International Workers’ Day falls on the same day. Aside from the celebration of spring coming up, let’s not forget all the heroes of today, who are doing their best, and gambling their life on a daily basis as they keep us safe from COVID-19.

Gratitude Hour

This year may be one of the toughest for all of us. This is especially true to our front liners; our doctors, nurses, medical technician, pharmacists, and all the workers in the healthcare industry. It also applies to our labor force in the food industry, the shop owners, cashiers, cooks, delivery people, as well as our peacekeepers, the police and the whole military force. But even 2020 being a hard year, let us not forget these people, as they sacrifice their time and well being so that we can be safe in our homes.

And what best way to recognize them and their hard work, than by saying thank you. If you know anyone who is serving at the front line in the midst of this pandemic, let them know how grateful you are for their sacrifices by sending a message of gratitude. You may even include a small trinket to show your appreciation.

Appreciation Gift Ideas

This will surely bring a smile to their faces, knowing that their hard work is being greatly appreciated. You may go for a handwritten card, or some baked goods, or packed meals. Or if you don’t have time to make them, you can always opt for sending them something you find online. You may consider an ornament that will remind them of these trying times, and how people recognize their hard work.

For our health workers, one of the first respondents in our current world situation; like the paramedics, nurses, doctors, ambulance drivers, and nurse assistants, and of course our pharmacists - go ahead and send them a personalized ornament with their name written on it.

There are also some ornaments available online which you can gift to our peacekeepers like state troopers and police. You can also find ones for those who take care of our other family members. Let's remember the vets who make sure that our pets are well taken care of.

And let’s not forget our food industry laborers who make sure that food is not scarce. Also, let's remember our heroes from the fire department who are always ready in case of fire. All these people choose to still serve and protect. They deserve our appreciation and applause. Remember to thank them for this May Day.

And of course, let’s not forget our construction workers, dentists, hairstylists, and nail technicians. Let's also remember our mailmen, too, whom we also interact with on a regular basis if there weren’t any lockdowns. They’re important, too.

So on May Day, let’s all take a time to say two words that would mean a lot to them: “Thank You”.
