Sometimes my daydreaming gets the best of me. Let’s hope the bosses aren’t reading this as I am now publicly admitting that I spend moments throughout my day thinking about where I might like to travel on vacation for either a day, a week or a month. This has been an unusually challenging year for me as I navigate life changes and try to determine where I fit in the big picture. I get a little more nostalgic each year. I am certain it can’t possibly have anything to do with my age. Okay, maybe it does just a little.
As I add more years, I am starting to really think about how I spend and want to spend my free time. My son is now grown, and I am an empty-nester. There is no more travel to cross country junior bowling tournaments or college visits. My time is different now, but I certainly enjoy looking back on the photos of time spent with him. The memory of those times is priceless to me. Of course, I will value being with family and friends. Some of my time will be spent intentionally alone, as I do like periods of quiet by myself in what is otherwise a very busy world.
