Gift at a Glance

A round disc of dark natural slate, laser engraved with "Our First Christmas" in flowing script above a row of four pine trees. One first name is engraved under each tree, and the year you choose sits below the engraved line "As a Family of 4."

Why You'll Love It

The year a family becomes four is the year the hallway gets louder and the photos stop being organized. This personalized family Christmas ornament puts that headcount on the record: four trees, four names, one year, cut into stone you can hold in your hand.

Laser engraving removes the top layer of the slate, so the names sit in the surface itself and will not rub off or fade after a few seasons in the storage bin. Slate splits differently every time, so the texture and the edge on yours will not match anyone else's.

MyOrnament personalizes and ships this ornament within 24 hours, which helps when the fourth family member arrives closer to December than anyone planned.

Helpful Details

The four names run left to right beneath the trees in the order you enter them, so you can arrange the family however you like. The engraving reads pale silver against the dark slate and is legible from a few feet away on a lit tree. A jute cord comes threaded through a drilled hole at the top, ready to hang.

Materials & Personalization

Made from natural slate, 3 inches tall by 3 inches wide, with the color and texture variation the stone comes with. The design is laser engraved, so the lettering is cut into the surface rather than printed on top of it. The engraved design text on the ornament reads "Our First Christmas" across the top and "As a Family of 4" near the bottom, and neither line is editable. You supply four first names, one under each pine tree, plus the year. A jute cord is included for hanging, and the ornament is personalized and ships within 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I get to personalize on this ornament?
You enter four first names, one engraved under each pine tree, plus the year engraved at the bottom. The phrases "Our First Christmas" and "As a Family of 4" are part of the engraved design and cannot be changed.

Will the engraving wear off over time?
No. This custom family Christmas ornament is laser engraved, which cuts the names and the year into the slate, so they will not rub off or fade.

What is the ornament made of?
Natural slate, 3 inches tall by 3 inches wide. Every piece has its own texture and edge, so no two ornaments look identical.

How does it hang on the tree?
A jute cord comes threaded through a hole at the top of the slate, so this personalized family Christmas ornament is ready to hang straight out of the package.

How quickly does it ship?
MyOrnament personalizes and ships this ornament within 24 hours of your order.

Can I use nicknames instead of given names?
Yes. Each of the four name fields takes whatever you type, so a nickname or a parent title works just as well as a first name.
